The real winners at the SAG Awards? Celeb makeup artists, who apparently found their star clients willing to go bold with their beauty looks on Sunday night. We spotted lipstick in a range of shades from neutral to very vampy; when it came to manis, stars sported everything from classic ballet-pink tips to Pinterest-approved nail art. Here are the 12 ladies whose looks we plan to copy soon — plus the exact lip and polish color they picked.
: Makeup artist Kate Lee tells PEOPLE that the deep rose color she used on the best supporting actress winner (Chanel Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour in Taffeta Rose, to be specific) was essentially a more intense version of the star’s pout’s natural color. And while her makeup was subdued, Tom Bachik went funkier with her nails, using two coats of L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail in I Will! to serve as the base for the butterfly accents on her middle and ring fingers.

: To complement her Old Hollywood gown-and-choker combo, the star couldn’t sport anything but classic red Dior Lipcolor in Rouge Favori #752. Lawrence’s nail artist, April Forman, also created a timeless pale pink polish shade by layering Essie Prima Ballerina with Pure Pearlfection.
: “I wanted to do something fresh and new on Sofia,” makeup artist Kayleen McAdams says –- so she gave the bombshell her first-ever purple eye look. To offset the dramatic color, she lined Vergara’s entire lip with CoverGirl LipPerfection lipliner in Beloved, then topped it with LipPerfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Rose Twist for a ladylike mauve pout.
: The actress had the beauty statement of the night thanks to her gothic burgundy lip color. And if you’re feeling daring, here’s how to recreate it, per her makeup artist Matin Maulawizada: Contour and shade your lips with Laura Mercier lip pencils, starting with Coffee Bean and followed by Deep Wine.

: To offset the star’s red-hot Alexander McQueen gown, makeup artist Kristofer Buckle went for “understated” beauty touches, including a muted pink lip achieved with YSL Rouge Volupté Shine in Rouge in Danger. And Christina Aviles, the star’s nail artist, also picked a feminine pink shade (Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Tendresse) so her mani wouldn’t compete with the rest of her look.
: What finally redirected our attention from the star’s over-the-top updo? Her vivid orangey-red pout. Rachel Goodwin swiped on Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Incandescente, which she describes as a “powerful red with a warm undertone.”
: To give Byrne one of the brightest lip shades of the night, her makeup artist Hung Vanngo skipped the lip liner and just used CK One Pure Color lipstick in Wow — a rich pastel pink — for a “modern” look.

: It took three simple steps to get the Glee star’s glowing smile. Jo Baker prepped with Chanel Rouge Coco Baume, then lined her lips with Chanel liner in #25 Pink Sugar and finally finished with Avon Totally Kissable lipstick in Loving Lilac.
: Makeup artist Melanie Inglessis decided on a shiny neutral shade to contrast Michele’s hot pink Valentino gown. She applied a coat of L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Luminous Lipcolour in Sheer Linen, then layered on L’Oréal Paris Wet Shine Stain in Eternally Nude. “The overall look is pretty, but modern,” Inglessis says.
: While most ladies chose an eye-catching smile or manicure, Watts went for both. She topped her talons with a shimmery dark silver-teal polish (Chanel Le Verinis Nail Colour in Black Pearl), then slicked on an equally bold lip color. “I applied a stain of [Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in La Sensuelle], and then used a delicate touch of [Chanel Precision Lip Definer in Rouge Profond],” says makeup artist Pati Dubroff.
Sarah Hyland: Christina Aviles kept the star’s tips “classic” and “neutral” using two coats of Essie Prima Ballerina, plus a sheer coat of Pure Pearlfection (wonder if Hyland and Jennifer Lawrence compared notes!). Aviles upped the mani’s glam factor by applying a clear rhinestone to the moon of the nail’s base.
: Another classic look: a nude lip to balance out a smoky eye. “I lined and filled the lips with Chanel Precision Lip Definer in Mordore,” Washington’s makeup artist Matthew VanLeeuwen reveals. The finishing touch? Chanel Glossimer in Sweet Beige.
