Who knew Karl Lagerfeld was such a die-hard Twilight fan? Okay, he may not have publicly pronounced his love of the series, but from his latest photography muses, we have reason to be a little suspicious. The film’s central couple (and real-life exes), Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, serve as the faces of two of the most storied French fashion houses, Chanel and Dior respectively. And thanks to Pattinson’s new extension of his Dior contact, both have had the honor of being photographed by Lagerfeld for their brand’s ad campaigns.
Pattinson was recently named the new face of Dior Homme’s Ready-to-Wear collection, which marks the first time the brand has used a Hollywood star to front the line. It’s no surprise they made an exception for Pattinson, seeing as his Dior Homme fragrance ads were a major, smoldering hit.
For his first photoshoot as the face of their clothing line, Dior Homme tapped Lagerfeld (the creative director of Chanel and Fendi) to work behind the lens. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen designers support competitive labels (last year Donatella Versace modeled in Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci’s Fall 2015 campaign) but it does show an interesting bridge between two of Paris’s most notable brands.

, when the chief executive officer of Christian Dior Couture, Sidney Toledano, told Pattinson he’d be working with Lagerfeld, he “was even more enthusiastic” about the campaign.

The actress only had complimentary things to say about working with Lagerfeld, telling PEOPLE in 2014, “He’s an impressive guy. He definitely is so much more than the glasses and the hair than you might think he is.”
