Think we’re done talking about Pharrell’s hat? Has “Happy” stopped playing on your local radio every thirty minutes? We didn’t think so. And Ellen DeGeneres — a huge fan of the song and the man behind it — is paying major tribute to the famous Vivienne Westwood topper. And we mean major.
When the GIRL singer/producer took the seat opposite her on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the host complimented him on his Oscars performance, discussed equality and then brought out an enormous replica of the hat that made its mark on the Grammys red carpet.
“When you started wearing that Vivienne Westwood hat, I was like, man that’s a big hat,” she said. “And now I’m so used to it, it doesn’t look that big. So I got you another hat that I think you should start wearing.”
That’s when a production assistant brought out a towering version of the topper, which Pharrell placed on his lap, to DeGeneres’s chagrin (you can guess why). “I didn’t think you should hold it there, personally. I think you should move it over … Or you can put it on your head. It certainly could have been somewhere else.”
Watch it go down (and check out Pharrell’s killer custom Swarovski sneakers) in the video below, and let us know: Where should he wear this hat next? What do you think of this continuing hat epidemic?
