Sarah Jessica Parker serves as co-chair of this year’s Met Gala with Bradley Cooper, and the high-fashion vet definitely followed the Charles James-inspired dress code. The actress selected a stunning custom Oscar de La Renta confection that is so major, it has to be seen in motion. Behold: This gif to your left.
After taking a closer look you’ll notice SJP’s ball gown — which features a black bodice and voluminous white skirt — has some very intricate details. “I said to Mr. de la Renta, Please let me use scarlet embroidery thread and flash your name across the back,” Parker tells PEOPLE. “It was my idea.”
The star paired her whiplash-inducing design with white elbow-length gloves and a major updo (which must have involved some major pins and hairpieces) accessorized with oversize flower clips. But we can’t say we’re surprised — Parker always upholds each year’s Met Gala theme to a tee.
