The 32-year-old actress is usually seen sporting, short sleek hairstyles, but in the smiling pic, uploaded on Saturday, Nyong’o’s hair reaches down to her ears. The star then blessed our Instagram feeds with yet another photo showing off the new style.

The second photo shows an almost full length view of Nyong’o, sporting a goofy expression and wearing a green, white and black striped dress as she holds up two movie posters — Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Disney’s The Jungle Book — which she was in town to promote at the fan expo in Anaheim, California, on Saturday. She was pulling triple-duty at the event as she was also promoting The Queen of Katwe.

The film, which is based on the real-life story of 12-year-old chess prodigy Phiona Mutesi, was shot on location in Uganda.

“First of all, I am from East Africa, from Kenya, which is just next door to Uganda,” Wyong’o said of filming in Africa. “It was invaluable. I met Phiona and her mother and they are just incredible people.”

Nyong’o then talked about how the people of the slums of Katwe have “dignity” and Katwe “is a difficult place to live,” and shooting there “did sober us and enliven us. To have that vibe was really exciting.”

Nyong’o is part of an A-list cast in the upcoming Star Wars movie starring Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill. The film is schedule to be released December 2015. When the Star Wars cast was introduced by director J.J. Abrams, he joked the Nyong’o is “apparently someone who is legally required to be in every Disney movie.”
