While expectant bride Lily Allen selected a Parisian designer for her lacey wedding dress, she stuck closer to home when it came to her heels, choosing not one but two pairs of custom-made shoes from British designer Rupert Sanderson. Allen walked down the aisle Saturday in a Delphine Manivet gown and Sanderson’s skyscraper Hydra pumps, made from a mixture of iridescent pearled suedes and boasting a 5½-in. heel. The singer “loved the simplicity, elegance and subtle sexiness” of the towering peep-toe shoes, according to a release. For the evening party at her home in the Cotswolds, which had an ‘English cricket and afternoon tea’ theme, the newlywed literally kicked off her heels, slipping into Sanderson’s less gravity-defying Rossini flats for the low-key celebrations. “Lily was a joy to work with, she knows what she likes and what she looks great in,” Sanderson tells PEOPLE exclusively. Meetings with the singer began back in February, and the designer says it was love at first sight when Allen spotted ‘the ones.’ “The original Hydra is very graphic with colour-block geometric strips worked into the platform and heel,” he explains. “Lily loved the style, but wanted something softer and more feminine.” And Sanderson was happy to oblige. “I’ve been a fan of Lily’s for a long time so working with her has really been a highlight and hearing that Lily and Sam are expecting is wonderful news — congrats to the both of them!” —Monique Jessen
