We’re not sure where to start with these photos of the most recent facial hair updates from Leonardo DiCaprio, Jared Leto and Brody Jenner (from left), so we guess we’ll just leave this photo right here and let you marinate in it for a bit.

Ready to discuss? Our thoughts: It’s not Movember, so they’re not being bullied into questionable facial hair for a good cause. Mercury’s not in retrograde. Sure, it’s summer vacation, but wouldn’t thick, bushy beards be an unwelcome sensation at the beach? Did Hugh Jackman get too much attention for his most recent beard move? Or perhaps these guys are just sick of being too darn conventionally handsome and they want to see who they attract with these follicular decisions?
We knew DiCaprio was venturing into new “hair-itory” with his man bun, but this artfully sculpted, almost elfin beard is a whole new level of grooming we weren’t prepared for — especially when paired with a nice suit.
Leto, on the other hand, is always going for a “casual Jesus” look, so his beard and flowing locks is a little less unexpected. But that doesn’t mean we wouldn’t appreciate a little trim here and there, perhaps some pomade to keep flyaways in place. He can pull pretty much anything off thanks to that irresistible head of hair and those piercing blue eyes, but if he’s going to cover them up with a hat and sunglasses, then all bets are off.
And then there’s Jenner, for whom we can’t even make an excuse. This mustache/goatee combo barely worked on AJ McLean during his prime Backstreet Boy years and currently is not working on Guy Fieri. It’s like the human facial hair equivalent of Pepe le Pew, and we only mean that as a sort-of compliment. We’re pretty sure it’s some kind of in joke that we’re on the outside of, but if not, Brody, may we strongly suggest a facial hair consult with Khloe? She’ll give it to you straight.
Let’s be clear: We’re not facial hair-averse in the least (hi, Ryan Gosling, Jon Hamm and George Clooney! Call us!). We’re just having strong reactions to these ones in particular. So…thoughts? Are you loving them or are you ready to go in with a razor and soap?
