She’s a recent high school graduate with porcelain skin, an enviously thick fringe and heavy-lidded eyes, but Natali Germanotta isn’t the next Hollywood ingénue; she’s Lady Gaga‘s little sister.
With a pop culture résumé that can be summed up with a cameo in the 2009 “Telephone” video and accompanying her sister to this year’s CFDAs, the Parsons fashion student says she isn’t capitalizing on big sis’s big connections. And while Germanotta isn’t interested in raiding her sister’s closet — “Some of the stuff she wears I’d be like, ‘No, never.'” — the 19-year-old fully encourages the spectacle. “She asked me, ‘Should I dress really conservative and look not like myself, or should I do it over-the-top and freak everybody out?,'” she recalls of helping her sis dress for her recent high school graduation ceremony. “And I was like, ‘The latter, definitely the latter.'” (For the record, Gaga did not disappoint, opting for a rhinestone-encrusted bodysuit and beekeeper headgear.)
So does having the megastar as an older sister have any benefits? “Whenever I wear something crazy and my dad gives me a hard time, I say, ‘Well, at least I’m not walking out on the street with red pasties,’ and he’ll be like, ‘Good point.'”
