We thought there was nothing else Lady Gaga could do to shock us, but leave it to the envelope-pushing singer to make jaws drop yet again. And this time it’s not about what she wore, it’s about what she didn’t wear.
The superstar Tweeted an image of her new fragrance ad in which she lounges naked covered only by a face mask and miniature men. Yes, it’s as weird as it sounds.
The unconventional campaign — shot by photographer Steven Klein — suits the unusual scent, Lady Gaga Fame. Dubbed “the first-ever black perfume” (it turns clear once spritzed) the aroma is described as dark, sensual and light according to WWD. The fragrance features notes of belladonna, incense, saffron, honey, apricot nectar, crushed tiger orchid and jasmine sambac, thankfully not blood and bodily fluids, as originally rumored.
Before leaking the image, Gaga revealed she was rather uneasy: “i won’t lie I’m a bit nervous. its been a while since i’ve shared some work with you. But i’m so proud of Steven+I, we really did not sleep!” she Tweeted.
Along with print ads set to run in September fashion magazines, a television commercial and a three-minute film are also slated to promote the perfume. Lady Gaga Fame hits beauty counters this November. Tell us: What do you think of Gaga’s campaign image? Will you buy Fame?
