If there’s one thing that Kristen Stewart has taught us about fashion in recent years, it’s that embracing your personal style — whether it’s your love for flats or funky hair — is cooler than following whatever trend is happening. And the Chanel ambassador is thrilled to spread the gospel about how much she’s loving her look lately.

“It’s f—–g dope,” the Café Society actress told Vanity Fair when asked how she’d describe her look. “My style is a little edgy and different. It’s fun to wear clothes that show off my personality, and I feel way more comfortable and confident when I do. It’s boring if I look like everyone else. I like to be different, even if other people don’t like what I’m wearing.”

Which is why, whether she’s dressed in a couture gown or a makeshift crop top, Stewart never fails to make a major statement. Her stylist, Tara Swennen, recently told PeopleStyle that she’s all about experimentation. “When it comes to her everyday look, Kristen is always trying her tees up or cutting them,” Swennen explains.

And her outfits aren’t the only thing she’s been having fun with lately — she’s been experimenting with her hair as well, opting for bold mohawk braids and fun side-swept knots, proving that even short-haired girls can change it up.

But at the end of the day, she just wants be comfortable — whether that means sporting Chanel couture or swapping her heels for sneakers after stepping off the red carpet.

“If there’s one thing I could say about Kristen and I, it’s that comfort is key,” Swennen says, adding that Stewart “loves a good heel … she just doesn’t want to wear them for five hours. None of us do!”
