Kendall Jenner has been prepping for the 2016 Met Gala since March (she and her sister Kim Kardashian West were trying to organize their family Christmas card on the Met steps!). And while she was still debating which designer to wear, she finally unveiled the winning dress on Monday’s red carpet: a sexy-skin, sheer, cutout Atelier Versace gown that showed skin from all sides.
The star chose a sparkly blue-and-white caged design that features a halter neckline with major side cutouts and a high-slit from the back. Her beauty look was pared-down and super-sleek with a slicked-back pony and bronzed, glowy skin.
She also had a supermodel run-in on the red carpet with one of her idols (she wants to be just like Cindy Crawford!) for a candid snap.
At the time of the Vogue behind-the-scenes video with Kim, Kendall wasn’t sure which designer she would wear on red carpet, but Kim was determined to dress the entire family in one brand so they can use a Met Gala picture as their family Christmas card. Since they “never have time anymore to take photos.” (No word yet if they got their Christmas wish.) And while Kimye and Kylie were dressed in Balmain, the supermodel went in her own sartorial direction with Versace.

Last year, Kendall wore a custom piece from Calvin Klein’s Francisco Costa and he also played-up her amazing body through the lace-up detail. “The lace-up detail on the sides makes the dress more delicate, and emphasizes Kendall’s already amazing shape,” Costa told PeopleStyle.
