No one knows Sports Illustrated swimsuit models like a former cover girl of the annual issue. So who better to weigh in on Kate Upton’s current reign as the queen of the SI Swimsuit cover? Upton has landed the coveted spot twice (and also graces the back cover of the 2014 issue), but Alt thinks it might be time for another model to earn some attention.
“What I don’t understand with Kate is, like, ‘What’s all the hullabaloo?'” Alt said on HuffPost Live. “There are are many covers of Sports Illustrated! One girl was just wearing a bottom, a couple times no top, one time just beads. So I don’t get what all the hullabaloo is.”

She goes on to say that Upton’s popularity has probably dovetailed with the rise of Twitter — it’s not only easy to see the photos, but to access the model herself, which adds to her cachet. “I think what it is … in this moment there’s just so much social media, and that’s why she’s had more word-of-mouth than anybody,” Alt says, adding, “I like Kate, she’s a pretty girl. All the girls are nice, all the girls are pretty. Every girl, to me, deserves to be talked about.”
