She may wear some of the priciest beauty brands in the world for modeling gigs, but in her downtime, Kate Upton is all about drugstore products.
“I always use Revlon eyeshadow,” the supermodel told PEOPLE at Gillette’s “Movember” press day in N.Y.C. “It’s a brown four-square palette compact that I’ve been using since the seventh grade.”
And while her go-to makeup is under $10, she splurges a bit more to maintain her luxe locks.
“My favorite products are Leonor Greyl,” she shared. “Two years ago on a job they bleached my hair, and it was really hard for me to get it to a point where it was healthy again and Leonor Greyl changed my texture completely.”
Stylewise, Upton has a few things she’s loyal too as well: “My Sam Edelman boots. They are so comfortable and amazing for traveling. I love Rag & Bone jeans, my favorite denim brand. And of course my go-to leather jacket.”

As for her favorite red carpet look? The professional catwalker picked one that wasn’t such a hit with PEOPLE StyleWatch readers. “I loved the dress I wore to present Carine Roitfeld with her award at the Night of Stars event,” she said. “I was wearing [Azzedine] Alaïa, and I really loved how my hair and makeup looked that night.”
Upton also shared that while she loves modeling bikinis (“I’m from Florida … it almost feels like home!”), hitting the runway in couture is an unparalleled experience. “Whenever you are modeling couture you are inspired by what the new fashion is and you are in the know,” she said. “I like to be in the know.”
Upton’s definitely in the know about Gillette’s Movember initiative, a November-long awareness campaign for prostate and testicular cancer in which clean-shaven men grow mustaches to show support for the cause.
“Movember is such an amazing cause [because] it brings awareness to men’s health,” she said. “A lot of women might be a little bit hesitant to support their men to grow ‘mos’ because sometimes they look a little bit homeless. But by partnering up with Gillette we are encouraging them to use the Fusion Pro Glide Styler to keep the ‘mo’ trimmed and looking nice. You want to be healthy!”
We had to wonder if she might be dropping hints to her new beau Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who has a full beard himself. But Upton remained coy about her stance on facial hair: “I’m a ‘mo’ girl during Movemeber for sure.”
