The magazine lauds Kate’s recognition of British designers — Alexander McQueen, Alice Temperley and Matthew Williamson among them — as well as her ability to mix high- and lower-end styles.
Joining Kate is her brother-in-law, Prince Harry, who makes the list for the first time ever (sadly, Prince William is not named). Rounding out the famous royals is Monaco’s Charlotte Casiraghi, daughter of Princess Caroline.
There’s major Hollywood representation on the roster, as well: newcomer Jessica Chastain also lands atop the list, joined by Diane Kruger (making it for a second time), Fan Bingbing, plus Colin Firth and his eco-conscious wife, Livia. Jay-Z and Alicia Keys represent the music world, while New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz earn props for their off-field looks.
Matt Lauer, Alice + Olivia’s Stacey Bendet and designer Stella McCartney are also applauded for their senses of style. The September 2012 issue of Vanity Fair hits newsstands nationwide on Aug. 7; to see the full list, click here. Tell us: Do you think Kate deserves top honors?
