Kat Graham Joins Mark's 10 to Watch Campaign: See the Exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Footage

Let’s be real: Kat Graham is a total smokeshow. So it’s no surprise that Mark chose The Vampire Diaries star as one of their picks for the brand’s “10 to Watch” campaign, which highlights up and coming women making their “mark” on the world. (Remember R&B singer Elle Varner and Les Mis star Samantha Barks?).

“I take chances. I think that something people know about me when it comes to makeup,” Graham told PEOPLE in the exclusive video interview above. “I’m not afraid to try things … bright eyes, bright lips. I’m also a big advocate forbeing yourself. A lot of that has to do with how you wear your makeup — if you like to wear lighter makeup, darker makeup, whatever it is. I believe how you make your mark is being true to who you are and letting that be your staple.”

And the star made sure she went heavy on the makeup for the campaign (the bright blue eyeshadow and sequin jacket in the photo below scream New Year’s Eve!), a stark contrast from her character on the show, who has a more minimal look.

“The character I play is earthy and natural, but off set I love to go glam,” she shares. “That’s why it was so great partnering with Mark. There’s nothing more fun than makeup.”

Celebrity makeup artist Jamie Greenberg loved working with Kat, because she was open to experimenting with something bold for the cover: “It was so much fun to work with Kat on set because she has such an amazing sense of personal style. It was a no brainer to use a colorful metallic liner for her cover look. It’s a fun, on-trend way to change up your makeup for holiday.”

Graham also talks fashion in the clip above, and shared her style crush: “I would have to say Gwen Stefani. I think she is somebody who can do cool and chic and she can also do hip and funky, and it’s still consistent. Which is very very hard to do. Some people are just crazy crazy funky and they can’t bring it down to a relatable level, or they just are super super simple that they don’t know how to bring it out.”
