We may only be four days into 2016, but style stars are already back to work fronting major ad campaigns and fashion lines (don’t feel too sorry for them — they had plenty of relaxation time on yachts during the break). Karlie Kloss is the face of Topshop’s spring ads, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley will help you achieve those new year goals with her new athletic line and Shawn Mendes has some major modeling news you need to read now.
Karlie Kloss reunited with Topshop, the brand of her very first ad campaign (eight years ago!), for their spring/summer 2016 campaign. And in-between modeling the new looks, she shot an adorably candid behind-the-scenes video, where she talked all about the collection and how it feels being back at the brand that started it all.
The brand’s creative director Kate Phelan gushes about their reunion in the press release. “It is thrilling to have Karlie back, eight years after her first modeling job and first Topshop campaign alongside Jourdan Dunn,” says Phelan. “She is the ultimate Topshop girl and modern super[model] – a world-renowned fashion figure, businesswoman, entrepreneur and philanthropist who will resonate with our global customers through her many talents, ambitions and passions.”
In a behind-the-scenes video, Kloss calls the homecoming “wonderful” and “quite sentimental” saying, “It’s come full circle, so it’s really nice.”

In other modeling news, Shawn Mendes is set to make 2016 even better than his breakout 2015. The 17-year-old singer sky-rocketed to stardom last year with the hits, “Stitches” and “Life Of The Party” and toured with Taylor Swift on her 1989 tour over the summer (you know, normal teenager stuff). Soon, he’ll have a slew of editorial campaigns to add under his belt because he just signed with Wilhelmina Models.
“Shawn is an infectious and talented performer, and we are confident his career in the modeling industry will be as exciting and accomplished,” said Alex Vaickus, CEO of Wilhelmina in a press release. “We look forward to the journey of working closely with him and the team to build the Shawn Mendes brand.”
As for Mendes, he said in a statement, “I’m so excited to be working with Wilhelmina. I can’t wait for everyone to see what we have planned for this year!”
