Kaia Gerber Lands First Vogue Paris Cover - Alongside Supermodel Mom Cindy Crawford

Posted on

After Cindy Crawford’s teen daughter, Kaia Gerber, signed her modeling contract with IMG last summer, the 14-year-old has been making her modeling ascent slowly. First, she started with a few fashion editorials—including ones for Vogue and Teen Vogue—and then made her way to designer campaigns. (Her latest is with none other than Alexander Wang.) The logical next step? Her first high-fashion magazine cover.

And who better to model alongside her inaugural cover shoot than her legendary supermodel mom? Enter Vogue Paris, which tapped the mother-daughter duo for its April cover—and the resemblance between this pair is beyond.

Stylist Emmanuelle Alt really accentuated this mini-me moment, dressing the pair in matching black leather jackets and large Jennifer Fisher hoop earrings, paired with barely-there makeup, voluminous waves and perfectly groomed brows (of course!).

This isn’t the first time Gerber posed alongside her mom. Last summer, the ridiculously photogenic family was featured in a Vogue spread. And she’s posed with her brother, Presley numerous times in the past, most recently for CR Fashion Book.

Even though Crawford has said before that she worries about Gerber’s rise in the modeling world and how she will handle not having a stereotypically “tiny” body type (something Crawford also had to deal with), the supermodel has been guiding her daughter’s career path, particularly helping her with one skill all models need to master early on—eyebrow grooming.

“My mom does mine because I know I would go tweezer-crazy and wind up with no eyebrows at all,” Gerber told Teen Vogue. “I love the look of full brows that aren’t perfectly done—eyebrows on fleek, that’s the goal. My eyebrows are like Miley—they can’t be tamed, even with brow gel.”

Gerber’s been open to her mom’s advice from the start, even though she admitted in 2014 that she doesn’t really “see the resemblance,” but noting, “everyone says it’s there, so I trust them.”

Perhaps this major twinning moment will help Gerber finally see it? Because after landing a cover of the magnitude of Vogue Paris, paired with the release of her ultra-cool Alexander Wang campaign last week (see below), we have a feeling there’s no slowing down for this rising star now.

But for today she’s soaking in the momentous occasion, captioning an Instagram, “What is life?!! I honestly can’t breathe right now.” With Crawford following along in the Instagram action saying it’s, “Such a special moment sharing a cover with my daughter.”
