Julie Benz experienced two types of bands when she got engaged on Sunday — but only one had diamonds! The actress, whose boyfriend Rich Orosco popped the question and surprised her with a Mexican-themed fiesta (complete with Mariachi band) afterward, received a customized Kwiat ring from her beau of four years, too. The stunning sparkler features a handmade platinum and cushion-cut center stone, which sits in a Kwiat signature ‘floating basket’ with a pave diamond frame. The band itself includes a milgrain edge with hand engraving. “Rich had a very strong sense of Julie’s style, so when he came to Kwiat we worked together to create the perfect ring for her,” jeweler Greg Kwiat tells PEOPLE. After the big moment, the couple celebrated with 60 friends and family members, in a day former Dexter star Benz called “absolutely perfect. The proposal was simple and beautiful — and then I was shocked by the pop-up surprise Mexican fiesta engagement party,” she told PEOPLE. “What girl doesn’t want to be serenaded by a Mariachi band surrounded by close friends and family?”
