Add one more credit to Julianne Hough‘s résumé!
The dancer-turned-singer-turned-actress, 24, will soon add designer to her lengthy list of credits.
Teaming up with footwear e-tailer Sole Society, Hough will launch her own line of shoes in February, the company announced on Thursday.
“I’ve always been into fashion,” the starlet tells PEOPLE exclusively. “It’s been a passion of mine. I’ve always wanted to create a line or a collection of my own, and Sole Society approached me and we just decided that it felt natural. Everything I feel I’m about, they’re about. I’m always trying to be fun and feminine and approachable. And I think that’s the same concept and vibe that they give off as well.”
Hough, who had her first design appointment in New York on Wednesday, wants her collection to include something for everyone.
“I think the overall vibe is girly and vintage, and there’s probably some edgy and sexy shoes in there, too,” the star of the upcoming film Safe Haven says. “But it’s not going to be just heels or just flats or just booties. I want to create a line that can serve as any girl’s shoe wardrobe. I want comfort as well as everyday style, and I think that’s what Sole Society is great at.”
She’s finding inspiration everywhere, too. “I really like Valentino’s collection,” she says. “They’re a little bit more on the pointy side with studs and stuff like that.”
An added bonus to launching a line is having the opportunity to step out of her comfort zone, as well.
“What’s really on trend for February into spring are these really fun neon colors,” Hough explains. “I haven’t really been one to experiment too much with neon because I’ve always been kind of afraid. With this, one thing I love is I get to explore and I get to find an inner creative side to me.” Tell us: Will you shop her shoe line?
