The program, inspired by the brand’s iconic “Because You’re Worth It” tagline, is in its seventh year and honors and celebrates inspiring women who are making a difference in their communities.
“I was well aware of the importance of the brand’s Women of Worth program,” Margulies tells PEOPLE. “It wasn’t until this past December at the awards ceremony, however, that I was able to truly see firsthand how this initiative is changing lives.”
Every year the program selects 10 women from across the country who have dedicated their lives to volunteerism and charitable efforts. “These women were so extraordinary and exceptional and most of these women you’d hear their stories and think, that’s when you quit,” the Good Wife actress adds to WWD. “Instead they persevered and not only helped other women but changed their communities, changed medical research, helped other women get jobs.”
Know someone worthy of this year’s title? L’Oréal Paris is accepting nominations through May 31 at womenofworth.com. The honorees will each receive $10,000 for their charitable causes and will be recognized at an awards ceremony in New York City.
