Kerry Washington’s crop top wasn’t the only surprise fashion moment on the SAG Awards red carpet Saturday night. Julia Roberts, Michelle Dockery and Ariel Winter’s head-turning style statements also have editors buzzing in the PEOPLE newsroom.
Roberts ditched the traditional red carpet gown for a pink Valentino jumpsuit. And despite what you may think, this isn’t a fashion first for her. “I had worn one before, but no one knew,” she joked on the carpet. The ensemble was another risk from the nominee, who got people talking with her her Golden Globes style choice, too.
After a more demure moment in Oscar de la Renta at the Golden Globes, Dockery stunned in a black-and-white J. Mendel gown, teamed with a polished updo and burgundy lip. We’re not used to seeing the Downton Abbey star wearing such a deep plunge. (What would Lady Mary say?) “It’s like a tuxedo, but a dress, so I loved it,” Dockery said of the look. “I’ve never worn J. Mendel before.”
Lastly, Modern Family star Ariel Winter selected a very daring neckline by way of her blue floral-print Badgley Mischka gown, which she said made her feel like Cinderella (albeit a sexy one).
