Roberts traveled to the South of France with Lancôme (she’s a spokesmodel for the brand) to attend the Lancôme Stars & Wonders dinner Wednesday in Monaco alongside fellow spokesmodels Penélope Cruz and Kate Winslet. They were all on-hand to celebrate the “femininity, beauty, happiness and wonderment,” that the cosmetics company inspires in women
On the red carpet, Roberts sported her signature tousled waves (courtesy hairstylist Serge Normant) and a long tuxedo jacket, worn with a white shirt, matching shorts (from her go-to red carpet brand, Givenchy) and strappy heels. Also dressed in formal black look, Cruz wore a one-sleeve Alexandre Vauthier gown with oversize bow detail, while Winslet chose a midi halter dress.

Over the years, Roberts has remained true to her classic red carpet aesthetic. And when PEOPLE asked her to pick her favorite look of all time, she did not hesitate. She told editor-in-chief Jess Cagle and style and beauty director Andrea Lavinthal that her Armani gown to the 2001 Oscars still stands out in her mind. “I guess the one that gets the most commentary is probably my look for the Oscars for Erin Brockovich,” she says.
Today it’s safely stored in a box under her bed, while a lot of other favorite pieces are kept in the “heritage collection” section of her closet. “I have this little space in my house that my husband refers to as the heritage collection. Things I go, ‘I can’t get rid of [this], what about Hazel [her 12-year-old daughter]?'”
