Julia Roberts is at the top of her game right now (but then again, when is she not?). She’s starring in two hit movies, the star-studded cast ensemble Mother’s Day and high-stakes thriller
. And is fittingly topping off her streak with a gorgeous InStyle cover where she talks about her high-fashion relationship with Riccardo Tisci, her mixed feelings on shopping and more.

On the cover, Roberts looks effortlessly glam as she sits seaside wearing a long ivory dress and some statement gold arm candy.
In the accompanying interview, the 48-year-old actress talks about her shopping habits. “I do [find myself shopping] from time to time. It just kind of strikes at moments. The thing I never understood about fashion is that you put something on and you look and feel great, and then you put it on again 10 days later and it’s terrible.”
But when she doesn’t feel like hitting Rodeo Drive (because we just assume she exclusively shops there), she has a great designer on-hand to call — Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci. Afterall, she was the brand’s spring/summer 2015 ad campaign star.
In the interview she says she didn’t get any nerves with her new high fashion supermodel gig — even though she never had met Risci before. “I didn’t have any apprehension. It was an unexpected invitation, and one that I accepted readily,” she tells the magazine. “It was such a funny shoot, maybe one of the all-time easiest ‘workdays’ I’ve ever had. And then there’s Riccardo… the day of the shoot, he was wearing work boots and, I think, a red plaid flannel. He was so unassuming… now we’re just pals.”
And she retells the moment she saw the finished ads. “Then, I remember being in New York and walking down Madison Avenue, past the under-construction Givenchy store. All of a sudden there’s… me. It’s one of those rare moments, especially in my advanced supermodeling age, when it was like, ‘OK, that’s cool.'”

She also opened up about aging in Hollywood, sharing that her best advice is following an everything in moderation mentality.
“I feel like if I knew all the things to do [in terms of exercise], I would probably look like I was put together with tape. I would just go crazy. So I think, better just to remain calm, drink your water, get your sleep and be joyful. We definitely try to eat mindfully. As I always say to my kids, ‘You have to eat the good stuff to get the good stuff.'”
Next up for Roberts? Her first-ever visit to the Cannes Film Festival which kicks off next week. “I’ve kind of avoided it. I mean, the first time I ever went to Asia was for a movie, Eat, Pray, Love. I’m a late bloomer.”
And when asked if Tisci is working on something for her to wear on the red carpet, she replies, “He might be.”
The June issue of InStyle hits stands Friday, May 13.
