Congratulations, Italia Ricci and Robbie Amell! The couple wed this weekend in Los Angeles, and PeopleStyle caught up with the bride after the nuptials to get all the details on her gorgeous bridal beauty look.
Her husband went for a classic look in a custom, made-to-measure Samuelsohn tuxedo for the big day. Ricci, 29, who now stars in Designated Survivor on ABC, on the other hand, said, “The dress was so much on its own that the subtle and classic hair and makeup was the obvious way to go.”
So, to get just the right beauty combination, she actually sought out a look she’s done before, when she played a bride on the ABC Family show Chasing Life. On that show, which ran from 2014 to 2015, she portrayed April Carver, a young journalist who was diagnosed with leukemia.
“I wanted the same makeup look as April Carver’s wedding day on Chasing Life,” says the star. [Below, the bridal look from Chasing Life.]
In fact, she even tapped the same team from the show, makeup artist Gina Homan and hairstylist Jeri Baker, to recreate the look. “They hit it out of the park,” she says.
She opted for an updo because she “wanted it back and out of the way for dancing,” she says, and even added a headband, as her character did. However, she didn’t add any extensions because of her production schedule. “I have to shoot on Tuesday!” she says.
It surely was a happy day for the actress — and one that was a long time coming, as she noted on her Instagram. “About damn time,” she wrote, joking of her long relationship with Amell, 28. They started dating in 2008, and got engaged in August 2014.
Below, Ricci shares more photos of her bridal beauty routine.
Hairstylist Jeri Baker gave Ricci an elegant updo, with a bun wrapped in strands.
Baker used Oribe products to get the look.
Makeup artist Gina Homan fulfilled Ricci’s request of “classic” and “subtle.”
Homan had dozens of products at the ready to create the look.
Homan’s kit included beauty classics, including items from Nars, Dior, Anastasia Beverly Hills, YSL Beauty, Make Up For Ever and more.
Homan had plenty of foundation at the ready to get just the right skin tone, including options from Chanel, Smashbox and Make Up For Ever.
