Just when we were convinced that Lupita Nyong’o had done it all, she pulls out a bold, glistening look to match her metallic dress at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens L.A. premiere Monday night. And her makeup artist, Nick Barose, is spilling all the details with PeopleStyle.

“We went for a glamorous look with classic red lips and winged liner,” Barose tells PeopleStyle. “The look has a futuristic twist incorporating metallic silver details.”

The actress, who plays Maz Kanata in the film, stunned in a sparkling Alexandre Vauthier gown and 30 carats (!!) of jewels, which certainly paired perfectly with her silver makeup.

“To add a futuristic touch to the otherwise classic black liquid liner,” Barose advises to “trace a silvery pencil above the black liner and focus more on the inner corners of the eyes to really make them stand out.”

On her lids, Barose first applied Lancôme Color Design Eyshadow in Style Section, a bold silver. He then applied winged liner and topped it with a swipe of silver liner, Lancôme Drama Liqui-Pencil in Lumiere.

To incorporate the same metallic sheen onto Nyong’o’s skin, Barose applied highlighter on the bridge of her nose and the tops of her cheekbones. And as for her lips, he finished off the look with “a classic red shade,” Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Absolue Rouge.

“When it comes to red lips, it’s about choices,” Barose says. “Shades of red can give different effects and textures. We were looking to use either a matte stain or creamy lipstick with a hint of sheen, but went with a classic lipstick to keep the look playful and fresh.”
