Giuliana Rancic Promises a Gown Change 'Every Hour' for Miss USA Hosting Gig

Posted on

Being busy with baby Duke isn’t going to stop Giuliana Rancic from going all-out glam when she hosts the Miss USA 2014 pageant. The E! reality star plans to switch between a plethroa of gowns, jewelry, and hairstyles on the big night — but that’s still a scaled-down version of her pre-baby wardrobe routine.

“Back in the day when I was first doing these red carpets and the bigger shows, I would make sure I got facials and hit the gym and that sort of thing,” Rancic, 39, told reporters Tuesday about getting some pampering in while juggling mommyhood and work. “But once you have a baby, your life changes — for the better obviously.”

The Fashion Police host is still narrowing down her look from 30 gowns to three for Sunday’s competition. “I am going to be doing a wardrobe change every hour,” she said. “Wardrobe doesn’t sound like a big deal, but when it’s a gown, and changing your hairstyle and jewelry, there’s a lot that can go wrong.”

And though she has to share the stage with 51 perfectly primped beauty queens, Rancic plans to hold her own while they compete for the title.

“I’m going to get a little tan, going to make sure my highlights are looking fresh and get a good manicure,” Rancic said. “Of course we want to look our best — we will try to look our best — but it’s really about them and letting them have their moment.”

Not surprisingly, co-host Thomas Roberts, MSNBC host of Way Too Early and Morning Joe contributor, has a much easier ritual when it comes to glamming up for the big show. “I am going to brush my teeth so I have really fresh breath for Giuliana, and make sure I have some mints in my pocket just in case,” he joked.

The Miss USA 2014 pageant airs live on NBC Sunday, June 8th at 8:00 p.m. What are you hoping to see from the host?
