What do Brad Pitt and Gisele Bündchen have in common? (Besides their bronzed, tawny beauty, super-hot spouses and glamorous jet-setting careers, of course.) They will both have fronted ad campaigns for Chanel No. 5. The supermodel is taking over for the actor as the face of the famous fragrance, according to reports.
Bündchen has been a face of Chanel beauty for more than a year now, most recently appearing in ads for the line’s Les Beiges cosmetics. And now, WWD reports, the model has filmed an ad for the scent in Sagaponack, N.Y. with A-list director Baz Luhrmann (who also directed Nicole Kidman’s 2005 spot for Chanel No. 5). According to Chanel, Bündchen was tapped for her “natural beauty and modern femininity,” WWD says.
The ad won’t arrive until later this year but we’re sincerely hoping it’s in the vein of Pitt’s black-and-white, deeply philosophical ad from last year. Nothing would be better than watching Bündchen ponder the meaning of life while being directed by the master of whimsy, Baz Luhrmann.
What do you think of the model’s new gig? What do you hope to see from the ad?
