From Date Night to Brunch: Exactly What to Wear This Weekend

Posted on

Do you have big plans this weekend? Yay! But are you scowling at everything in your closet? Boo. Don’t panic. We’ve picked three great looks that will get you through the weekend looking like a pro — from date night to Mother’s Day brunch and beyond.

Saturday night: We’ve finally locked up our tights drawer for the season, and Jordin Sparks‘s bare leg action has inspired us to finally reach for our miniskirts. The singer stuns in a floral bodycon skirt and black blazer combo that will command a guy’s attention and make you radiate confidence, which is exactly what Saturday night is all about. Get her look with this Forever 21 mini (it’s a steal at $12.80) and a cropped blazer like this one by ASOS ($59.40). As for footwear, throw on your go-to pair of black pumps (we know you have a million). Bonus points if you add a statement necklace like this piece of neck candy we’re obsessing over from Zara.

Mother’s Day brunch: Your mom is going to be in her favorite skirt-and-sweater set, and you want to look presentable without looking like you shopped in her closet. Enter: pretty print pants and a blazer. Take a cue from Pippa Middleton‘s Alice by Temperley trousers. Luckily, we found a similar pair for a fraction of the cost. Try these paisley head-turners from Nasty Gal ($58) and this versatile ivory topper by Boundary & Co. (it’s majorly on sale). And be sure to buy your mom an extra mimosa at brunch as a bribe to not steal your cute clothes when you’re done with them.

Monday morning: We’ve been buzzing about Zoë Saldana‘s flawless style since she started her Star Trek Into Darkness promotional tour, and this collared frock is one of our favorites. So we wanted to interpret her look into a style you could wow the office with on Monday. That’s when we tracked down this ASOS pencil dress ($81.46). The color-blocking print is so on trend, as is the point collar. It will also look great under a black or blue blazer. Finish the look with a chic pair of snakeskin pumps like this style from Aldo, on sale for $69.98.
