“I want women to feel empowered, more boldly sexy and unafraid to be a little mysterious,” Aguilera told PEOPLE while sitting in the theater of her Los Angeles home recently. “It’s for the woman that exudes confidence, but is also for those women who may be a little timid or shy about feeling sexy and need a little inspiration.”
With notes of cinnamon and red apple, Aguilera’s latest scent also touches on temptation. “Like in fairy tales,” says
coach, whose new album Lotus will drop Nov. 13. “A red apple can be seductive, alluring and enticing.”
Incorporating her “go-to” color in the title and design, Aguilera believes red is a mood enhancer. “That’s why my bedroom has red accents,” says the singer, who shot the commercial for Red Sin in her own boudoir.
Another bedroom secret? “I put on fragrance before I got to bed and get under the covers,” she says. “It relaxes me, makes me feel sexy and hopefully gives me seductive dreams.” But, she admits with a chuckle, there are those occasional “unsexy bedtime scents like Vicks.”
None of them seem to bother her beau, Matthew Rutler, though. “Depending on his mood he wants to smell different things,” says Aguilera. “But he loves my fragrances. He is opinionated, but I’m the boss!”
