Whitney Port has great style and great hair, so it’s no surprise that editor-loved haircare brand Joico decided to tap the Hills star and clothing designer for a new web series centered around style. And we’ve got the first look at the kickoff episode of the series, called “Drab to Fab,” for you to check out below.
In each episode, Port and Joico’s artistic director Damien Carney pair up to create the perfect look for a girl in a different part of the country. For their first challenge, the New Yorker, Carney styled some bouncy, voluminous curls on the model, while Port selected a mix of tailored pieces from her collection to go with the “sleek, sophisticated and glamorous” vibe of the region.
“My line is all about dressing from day to night,” Port says in the clip. “It’s about being that working girl and that career girl that wants to be fashionable and step out of the lines a little bit, but then accessorize for a night out. That’s why I think this look represents it so well.”
Judging by the crop top and silk patterned wide-leg pants Port herself wears for the video, her style sensibility definitely follows a more laid-back, boho West Coast vibe. As for her hair, her day-to-day routine is pretty simple. “I kind of wash it and let it air dry and let it down, with a slight side part,” she tells PEOPLE. “For more of a red carpet look it always varies on what I’m wearing, but recently I’ve been liking a sleek long straight pony and the wet look. Very simple.”
How would you define your style? Is it true to your part of the country? What do you think of Port and Carney’s N.Y.C. look?
