Eric Decker’s talents extend beyond the football field. The New York Jets wide receiver has been stepping up his style game.
Between his impressive knowledge of patterns, color palettes, and materials, the athlete has been showing off a cool, collective style while still feeling comfortable. Afterall, he has two children at home — Vivian, 2, and Eric Jr., 10 months — to run around after!
Whether he’s dressed in a casual T-shirt and jeans in a suit for a special occasion, Decker knows how to keep himself fresh and polished. And he has one person to thank for his fashionable wardrobe — his wife Jessie!
While the footballer would prefer to stay in sweats all day, his wife has encourages him to think outside that box.
“She’s helped me get out of my comfort zone,” Decker told PEOPLE at the Superdry store opening in N.Y.C. “I never used to wear skinny jeans and now I love skinny jeans. I wear them all of the time. I definitely get the approval from the boss.”

Jessie isn’t the only person who has shaped his style. Decker also points to fatherhood as an inevitable change in his everyday wear, saying, “You have to get used to getting food and slob all over you. It’s changed what I wear at home for sure.”

The brand ambassador for Superdry also shared that his fast-paced lifestyle and his move to New York to play for the Jets has also had an effect on his new and improved fashion sense.
“Before I’d just wear anything and it probably looked horrible. Now I have an idea of what looks good, what goes together, the color pallet [and] the materials.”
