Emma Stone‘s hair has been through a lot this year. It’s been shorter, longer, banged and braided. And now it looks like she’s committing to the short cut, debuting a sweet and sassy new bob at the Venice Film Festival premiere of Birdman.
Her go-to hairstylist Mara Roszak posted an Instagram of the star at the premiere, calling her “a vision in Valentino,” but (sadly for us) didn’t elaborate on why she and Stone decided to remove Stone’s extensions (which were for a film she was shooting) and go even shorter than before. But we love that they did. The new cut falls just below Stone’s jawline and is softened with layers and side-swept bangs (instead of the piecey front fringe she had before), and the slight bend midway through the cut gives it gorgeous volume and movement.
After Stone’s last cut, Roszak told us that the two of them work so well together, she can just suggest something and Stone will go with it — hence the surprise bangs. “We both were like, ‘This is gonna be a fresh look, let’s do it!’” she said at the time. “I knew they would be a really fun look for her so I just felt like why not have them for a premiere, like an accessory.”
Between the elegant new cut, the pitch-perfect makeup (if you’re dying to know what the lipstick is, like we were, it’s this Revlon lip crayon in “Whimsical”) and the deep, deep bottle-green gown, this may be a personal best for Stone as far as our tallies go. Are you loving it as much as we are?
