“She quite obviously embodies who we feel to be today’s Opium woman,” YSL president Renaud de Lesquen said in a release.
The actress, who said she’s “honored” to represent the brand, expressed her admiration for YSL, too. “It is a really exciting experience to embody this legendary fragrance, which has stood the test of time,” she shared. “Being a part of this new campaign and being able to tell the story of this very evocative fragrance is a real thrill.”
According to Nathalie Duran, deputy general manager of YSL Parfums, Blunt’s campaign “unveils a fiery, almost reckless woman with magnetic seduction, that nobody or nothing can resist.” In fact, Blunt comes face-to-face with a leopard in the images, shot for television by Romain Gavras and print by Patrick Demarchelier. The campaign debuts in October.
