While the Duchess of Cambridge was hitting the red carpet in London in this blue Jenny Packham dress for the second time, our editors were sitting front row at the designer’s fall/winter 2014 New York fashion show. And since the Duchess loves the British label so much (and has been wearing it quite a bit since giving birth to Prince George), we played style scout and selected three gowns we’d love to see her wear from the new collection.
From left, this golden design featuring a silk taffeta skirt and beaded bodice has a very regal feel, and we think it’s a look of which Queen Elizabeth would definitely approve. Next, we love when Kate wears color, so the scarlet stunner with a front slit (the perfect hint of sexy) and silk waistband would be perfect for the royal mom. (And maybe she can borrow more of the Queen’s jewels to accessorize the gown with). Our third choice is probably the most removed from Kate’s comfort zone, but she’s looked gorgeous in long-sleeved gowns in the past, and we’d love to see her add more patterns into her formal wardrobe.
Packham’s latest collection was inspired by 1970s style icon Bianca Jagger. “I admire women who style themselves with integrity and white — Bianca was the Queen of mindful dressing,” the designer shared in a release. We hope her next runway show is inspired by Kate! See more of the designer’s looks hit the catwalk in the video below, and tell us: Which dress do you like best for Kate?
