Before hosting her ninth CMA Awards, Carrie hit the red carpet in a blush beaded Michael Cinco ball gown which she called "girly, princess-y and pretty." She accessorized with Jimmy Choo shoes, dazzling Butani earrings and rings from Hearts on Fire and Harry Kotlar.

Carrie said she was drawn to this sparkling Elie Madi mini because of the "beautiful side cape thing." She teamed the "different" look (that put her killer leg muscles on display) with Arzano jewels and metallic Stuart Weitzman heels.

"The first CMA awards were in 1967 so it kinda caught the tail end of '60s fashion," Underwood shared. "The '60s are all very like Tammy Wynette and Loretta Lynn inspired. Things that look a little more vintage." She added that her green Elie Madi mini "is modern but also has this cool vintage feel to it." And those bedazzled Rene Caovilla heels scream country queen.

'DIRTY LAUNDRY' PERFORMANCE
"My performance outfit is a little more menswear-inspired, but also kind of playing off of the song 'Dirty Laundry'," Carrie told us of the white Marina Toybina dress, leather harness, black tie (by HEX Ties), Mother of London gloves and Nasty Gal boots she wore to perform her hit.

"The '70s were a little more showy so we went with this gorgeous low cut -- I don't wanna say disco dress, that's so the wrong word -- but it's very gold," she said of the beaded fringe LaBourjoisie gown. "It's just super flashy. It would make someone look a little more curvy, which I'm not, so that's good. I need all the help I can get! It's very Dolly inspired." She completed the look with H. Stern jewelry and Jimmy Choo shoes.

Carrie and her wardrobe stylist Marina Tobyina had the toughest time locking down a look for this decade because outfits of the time were "a little less flattering." She eventually landed on this Elie Madi beaded fringe dress -- another mini moment that put her toned legs front and center. She added vintage Janey Lopaty earrings and a coordinating bracelet, plus an Atelier Swarovski ring and Jimmy Choo pumps.

This look was a direct nod to the one-and-only Reba McEntire and her revealing red gown at the 1993 CMA Awards. "It was very low-cut and it was pushing boundaries, which is something she always did," Carrie shared of the inspiration for her custom scarlet Mac Duggal gown, teamed with Joan Hornig earrings, a Graziela Gems ring and Rene Caovilla shoes. "It was scandalous for the time. So the '90s will be a direct play off of that moment."

"CONTEMPORARY" COUNTRY LOOK
"Go big or go home." That's the singer's dressing motto and she proved that in this gold fringe Elie Madi mini, teamed with Coomi jewelry and Rene Caovilla heels. But her best accessory? That CMA Award for Femal Vocalist of the Year she nabbed at the show.

DOLLY PARTON TRIBUTE
Underwood says her outfit plan for the Dolly tribute was "sequins all the way," and she accomplished that in her silver fringe Jovani gown teamed with Arzano, Nigaam and Butani jewelry and Stuart Weitzman heels.

The star saved one of her most formal outfit moments for the show's finale, posing with her CMA Award in a black MacDuggal tuxedo gown accessorized with a necklace and earrings from Johnathon Arndt.
