Clothing Brand Brandy Melville Under Fire for Selling Size Small Items as 'One Size Fits Most'

Juniors brand Brandy Melville sells the majority of its clothes as “one size fits most,” but now many are saying this one size policy is not inclusive enough.

A variety of the items on the site are sold as “fits size small,” with no other sizing options available, including the popular James Tank, which according to the site has a 12-inch bust (the material has stretch, but keep in mind that a woman wearing a 32A bra has a 32-inch bust-line).

The small sizing has outraged many women, who have spoken out against the brand on Twitter.

“Brandy Melville’s definition of ‘one size fits all’ is basically an extra small smh,”
tweeted @slaycybee.

And other Twitter users followed suit.

“Let’s make a store where all the clothes are one size fits most! Bc most women are built the EXACT same!’ -Founder of Brandy Melville,” wrote @sephilpot.

Added @alexandramauro_: “Imagine how much more business Brandy Melville would get if they made clothes in more than one size.” .

The Italian clothing brand first set up shop in the U.S. in the Westwood area of Los Angeles in 2009, according to Racked. It has 12 stores throughout California, with additional stores in Hawaii, New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut, and an online store as well.

The brand also has 2.9 million followers on Instagram.

Brandy Melville did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
