Carrie Ann Inaba's Blog: My Night as a Bond Girl

We’ve had lots of fun hearing about Carrie Ann Inaba‘s stunning Dancing with the Stars ensembles, and today, the judge gives us the exclusive details on what she wore Monday night — and how it allowed her to live out a fantasy:

My original choice for Monday night was a beautiful long blue chiffon dress to celebrate and honor Veteran’s Day and our recent elections. But on Sunday, Kit Scarbo, wardrobe stylist extraordinaire (who also styles Tom, Len and Bruno), brought in a beautiful dress by Ines DiSanto and it was love at first zip.

I don’t usually wear short dresses on Monday nights but this dress definitely wasn’t going to take “no” for an answer. Some dresses just have a superstar quality and this was one of them. It certainly had the celebratory feel I was looking for for the evening, so we went full steam ahead and chose a Bond Girl theme for the night’s look. After all, every woman has a Bond Girl fantasy — right?! So what better place than on Dancing with the Stars to live out a Bond Girl fantasy look?

Anna Maria slicked back my hair into a super-tight, super-slick ponytail. We used a bit of gel and some UltraNet hairspray to clean up the flyaways and she threw in some extensions in the pony for some added length. We also wrapped some hair around the band to finish it off. For makeup, Jojo McCarthy found a new bold red lip color and we built around that and did a neutral eye.

For the jewels, we chose some mandorla-shaped green earrings by Blue Candy, a variety of silver and gold rings and the showstopper: a Moonisa extra-large gladiator cuff, just to accentuate the Bond theme again. And my Alice + Olivia Larimore platforms did the trick for my shoes. They are so comfortable and give me an added five inches — which never hurts!

It sure was a supercharged evening of dancing and celebration. Be sure to tune in on Tuesday for the DOUBLE ELIMINATION!

P.S. Just for the record, Sean Connery was still the best Bond ever. Don’t you think Len has that certain “Bond” appeal, though? I can hear it now: “Goodman, Len Goodman.”
