Cara Delevingne Reveals Battle with Depression, Confirms She's Not Quitting Modeling in Powerful Twitter Message

Posted on

Cara Delevingne loves to write a good Twitter tome. She’s completely unfiltered with her fans on social media — like the time she expressed her desire to “pour molten cheese” on the paparazzi. Delevingne’s latest Twitter essay, however, went much deeper. The 23-year-old star opened up about her battle with depression.

Delevingne took to her feed Thursday night to “set the record straight” on a few things.

“I never said I was quitting modeling,” she began, adding, “I do not blame the fashion industry for anything. I suffer from depression and was a model during a particularly rough patch of self hatred. I am so lucky for the work I get to do but I used to work to try and escape and just ended up completely exhausting myself.”

After recalibrating her career, Delevingne continued that right now she’s focusing on her acting and mental health.

“I am focusing on filming and trying to learn how to not pick apart my every flaw. I am really good at that,” she Tweeted, before ending her emotional stream of consciousness with, “Okay…. Rant over. Just wanted to clarify and word vomit a little.”
