Cara Delevingne‘s beauty M.O. used to consist of this formula: Bold brows plus super-long blonde strands equals immediate supermodel status. But the star is one step closer to shedding her industry image after unveiling a brand-new (and super-chic!) hairstyle on Thursday: a long bob!

The actress-slash-model showed off a new textured shoulder-length lob on the red carpet before the Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets panel during Comic-Con in San Diego. The star teamed the short new do with a bold red lip, a sultry smoky eye and a outfit by DSquared2, featuring crazy-cool, camo-print pants.

Less than an hour before the big reveal, Delevingne shared a cryptic snapshot her freshly chopped locks (done by celebrity hairstylist Mara Roszak) coating the floor on Instagram, captioned with a single emoji: “💇🏼”

The Suicide Squad star’s cut comes just a month after her BFF Kendall Jenner opted for a similar short style, which we’ve dubbed her “fashion lob.” “Honestly, I’ve been wanting to change my hair for a while now,” Jenner confessed on her website/app. “Christy Turlington’s bob was a total inspiration for me, even though mine’s a little longer.”

First Kendall, now Cara. So, who’s next to jump on the fashion lob bandwagon? Our money’s on Gigi.

As for Delevingne’s makeup, celebrity makeup artist Molly R. Stern gave the star a “sexy casual” look with softly smudged liner and a vibrant red lip.

For the grunge-inspired liner look, Stern began by applying Rimmel London Magnif’eyes Double Ended Shadow and Liner in Queens of a Bronzed Age to the actress’ eyelids, and then deepened the color on the upper and lower lash lines with Rimmel London Exaggerate Auto Waterproof Eye Definer in Noir. Here, she smudged the liner and diffused it outward, giving it that not-so-perfect appearance.

“It’s okay to not be too precious with your application,” Stern tells PeopleStyle on how to nail the distressed eyeliner look. “Keep the lash line smudged and soft!”

And to give Delevingne that summer glow, Stern blended Rimmel London Good to Glow Foundation in Piccadilly Glow to even out the model’s skin tone, and then added warmth to the apples of her cheeks with a few brushes of Rimmel London Natural Bronzer in Sun Light.

To complete the look, Stern swiped on a one of Delevingne’s favorite red lipsticks (Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick in In Love With a Ginger for an instant pop of color.
