Brittany Snow's Biggest Beauty Regret? A Wax Job Gone Bad

Posted on

Since her early days on American Dreams, we’ve long had a girl crush on actress Brittany Snow. From her lovable on-screen characters (anyone who has seen Pitch Perfect knows what we’re talking about) to her down-to-earth red carpet style (remember this look?), we’d always hoped to someday get the opportunity to hang out with the star. Which is why when we finally got to chat with the actress, we just had to pick her brain on all things beauty, including her must-have products, biggest beauty regret and fighting frizz in Florida. Though movie premieres and red carpets may always look like they’re all fun, games and great shoes, Snow still remembers a painful experience from when beauty went bad.

“I once went to a lady for the first time who was going to wax my eyebrows, and she told me I needed to wax my entire face,” she admits. “I have very, very sensitive skin, and my face did not like being waxed, so I broke out and then had to go to Vegas to promote Hairspray. In pictures I look like I’m terribly sunburned, but really it was a reaction to the wax. Never again.”

These days, Snow keeps it simple, making sure to keep her hair and skin hydrated. “Growing up in Florida and having naturally curly hair was a bit tough,” she says. “I had to learn to do treatments and masks to keep the frizz under control. Now, I love Kerastase and Moroccanoil products.”

And for her fair skin, Snow loves the fancy stuff. “I constantly am putting on La Mer Moisturizing Lotion to keep me moisturized,” she says. “I also can’t live without Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage and Maybelline [New York] Great Lash Mascara. Sometimes, those three [products] are all I wear.”

She credits her low-maintenance beauty routine to those Biore pore strips (you know the ones) — as well as credits the pore strips for helping her do good in the world. “They were always something I used as a teenager,” she tells PEOPLE of the product. “[Biore] asked me to be [its] spokesperson, and I was excited since they also teamed up with my charity, Love Is Louder, to bring awareness of mental health and positivity.”
