During a phone call with reporters recently, Brad Goreski said he had a designer collaboration coming up “in the near future.” Well, the cat’s out of the bag: today, the celebrity stylist was named Kate Spade New York’s exclusive brand stylist.
According to WWD, the reality star will “elevate brand awareness surrounding the company’s ready-to-wear category” and work with creative director Deborah Lloyd to style press events, fashion presentations, ad campaigns and e-commerce shoots.
“The brand is known for its accessories, and their ready-to-wear is fairly new and [it’s] Deb’s baby,” Goreski tells WWD. “We see so many people carrying the bags and the accessories. It’s my hope to get the ready-to-wear out there and see it more on the streets and see people playing with it and making it their own.”
While being on television will certainly give Goreski a platform to promote the brand — his new show,
It’s a Brad, Brad World
, premieres Monday night on Bravo — the stylist hopes to use social media to help, too.
“I’m a huge Tweeter,” he tells WWD. “I use it as my way to really interact with people, and part of my job will be collaborating [with Kate Spade] in all areas of social media to get people involved and more excited about the brand.”
Someone already excited about the brand — and the Brad? Lloyd herself. “Besides being a great stylist, he is a joy to be around and a true gentleman,” she tells WWD. “He keeps me laughing and keeps me on my toes.” Tell us: What do you think of Goreski’s new gig?
