When Blac Chyna announced her engagement to Rob Kardashian on Instagram with a pic of her new bling and a giant stack of dollar bills, there were a few questions everyone seemed to have. They included: “What?!” and “Really?!” and “How did he ask?!” and finally: What’s the deal with that giant ring?

The jeweler behind the giant round solitaire diamond on a diamond-studded band is none other than Ben Baller, a friend of Rob’s since they were teens. And because any friend of the Kardashians is social-media ready at all times, he Instagrammed a video of the ring, held in a black-gloved hand, twinkling in the light.
Congrats to @RobKardashian & @BlacChyna on getting engaged. Rob, I have never seen you this happy before and I've known you since you were a teenager. I'm glad you came to your day 1 homie to get this massive💍 for your lady. You know I don't play when it comes to diamonds. God bless #7Carats #VVS #IFANDCO #BlacChyna #RobKardashian 💎💎💎💎💎💎

So what have we learned? Well, it’s seven carats, it’s of extremely high quality (the hashtag #VVS indicates jeweler’s terminology for “very, very slight” inclusions, or flaws) and it was created by the same company, If & Co., that creates pieces like this diamond Jesus pendant and this diamond-studded nameplate necklace.
But no 7 carat, glove-clutched diamond ring could shine brighter than the happiness radiating from Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian’s Instagrams today. As Ben Baller said, “Rob, I have never seen you this happy before,” which echoes similar sentiments from Chyna’s pal Amber Rose. And of course, he leaves us with one parting thought:
Do you like the ring?
