Billie Lourd‘s got a new look!
The 24-year-old actress and daughter of the late Carrie Fisher, debuted a hair color switch up on Instagram Wednesday. Lourd swapped out her blonde hue for a cool silver-gray shade. And it appears the star made the daring switch for a new TV role she landed: starring in the seventh season of Ryan Murphy‘s FX hit, American Horror Story.
Murphy also shared the photo of Lourd on his Instagram account, revealing that her icy hair color hints at what the storyline of the highly anticipated 7th season of the series will be (so far all he’s confirmed is that fans can expect an election-themed installment of the horror franchise).

“Winter is coming. Can’t wait for everybody to see what the incredible Billie Lourd does this season on AHS,” Murphy captioned the Instagram photo.

Lourd appeared on another one of Murphy’s series, Scream Queens, as Chanel #3 for the past two years before FOX announced this year that the series would not be renewed.
AHS will be the actress’s first foray back into television since her mother Carrie Fisher died suddenly at the age of 60 in December, followed by her grandmother Debbie Reynolds who passed less than a week later.
Lourd’s slowly been reentering the spotlight following the sudden losses, between spending time with her former Scream Queens costar Taylor Lautner and making a tribute to her mom at her first red carpet appearance at a Star Wars Celebration in April.
“My mom used to say she never knew where Princess Leia ended and Carrie Fisher began,” Lourd said onstage when she honored her mother. “She was imperfect in many ways but her imperfections and willingness to speak about them are what made her more than perfect. My mom, like Leia, wasn’t ever afraid to speak her mind and say things that might have made most people uncomfortable.”
