We admired her shoes all throughout season one of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and now Adrienne Maloof is turning her eye for fine fashion into a career. The reality star is creating shoes with Charles Jourdan, launching the high-end line on Isaay.com this fall.

“I have loved shoes ever since I was a young girl,” Maloof tells PEOPLE. “My brothers would always make fun of me about my shoe obsession. But it’s been a dream to create a shoe collection.”

The businesswoman, who says fashion is “in her DNA,” thought about creating a line long before Housewives hit. So when representatives from Charles Jourdan approached her about working together, she was “honored.” Calling herself a fan of the brand’s work, she loves the limited-edition platform shoes, but “as a mom, you’re always running around,” she adds. So “I also have a deep appreciation for a beautiful and functional flat.” As a result, she created about 10 pairs of shoes, ranging from sparkly heels to a sleek flat boot.

Though she keeps busy with motherhood and her family’s business ventures, Maloof says she’s able to balance it all by staying determined. “When you’re passionate about creating something, you will find the time,” she explains.

Maloof, who plans to debut the shoes on red carpets later this year, didn’t seek input from her Housewives castmates when creating her footwear. “But we all have very similar likes when it comes to shoes,” she explains.

So will her first foray into fashion design lead to even more collections? “Absolutely,” she assures us. “You’ll have to wait and see!”
