Sure, this season of Bachelor in Paradise was marked by drama, tears and the Corinne Olympios/DeMario Jackson controversy, which temporarily shut down production. But, through it all, one couple did find their happily-ever-after: Taylor Nolan and Derek Peth. Proposing to the mental health counselor during Monday night’s Paradise finale, Peth gave Nolan a gorgeous 2-carat diamond ring from Neil Lane, the Bachelor franchise’s go-to jeweler. “I did not actually meet with Derek, so it was important for me to better understand him and his personality – and of course Taylor’s as well,” says Lane, who got a feel for the smitten duo by chatting with the show’s producers. “What I gathered was that he was more traditional yet he also liked the idea of a romantic ring.”
It came down to two choices: a vintage-inspired rose gold ring with tiny diamond details and a classic platinum ring set with a center round diamond. Peth, who appeared on JoJo Fletcher’s season of the Bachelorette, went for the latter style, which is also accented by two trapezoid and two tapered baguette-cut diamonds.
Congratulations @pethderek and @taymocha! We are so happy to have been a part of your happily ever after. Wishing you two the love story you deserve ❤ 💍 . The ring Derek chose for Taylor was a classic Neil Lane platinum ring set with a round center diamond accented by two trapezoid diamonds and two tapered baguette cut diamonds, the perfect complement to her traditional style. . . . @people @bachelorinparadise #BachelorInParadise #BIP #bachelornation #bachelormonday #NeilLane #engagementring #engagementringinspiration #shesaidyes #ringsofinstagram
“He decided it best suited Taylor,” says Lane. “And Derek really liked that it felt more traditional and classic, but still had a mid-century vibe.” Turns out, Peth was spot-on. Lane adds: “She loved it!”
Tune into the season finale of Bachelor in Paradise tonight 8/7c on ABC.
