Ashley Olsen's Two-Tone Floor-Length Cardigan: Obsessed or Hot Mess?

Updated

FameFlynet

Here in N.Y.C., city dwellers are shaking out their stored-away knitwear after an unexpected week of 50º weather. Just take Ashley Olsen, for example, who stepped out in a cold-weather-appropriate design so show-stopping it earned its own Emergency Obsessed or Hot Mess.

The Elizabeth and James co-designer, 30, stepped out in N.Y.C. wearing a statement-making green cardigan buttoned down to her black leather boots, almost skimming the sidewalk. But this isn’t just a long sweater — it’s also a long sweater with one striped side and one solid olive side.

Olsen topped the floor-length number with a quilted navy jacket, delicate gold jewels and her signature oversize sunnies, rounding out one of her most interesting looks to date.

Although the eclectic design is just that — eclectic — we have to admit Olsen makes it work to her advantage. Since oversize anything is her street-style M.O. nowadays, pairing the cardigan with simple accessories (like her black boots and gold jewels) lets it stand out and shine on its own. (Not that it needs much help.)
