UFC fighters Ronda Rousey and Travis Browne are a couple.
Browne, 33, confirmed their relationship on the talk show The MMA Hour on Monday, saying “She’s my woman and I am her man.”
Browne said “we are together” but he doesn’t like the term “dating.”
“Dating is for children,” he said. “There’s no boyfriend, girlfriend stuff.” Browne also said Rousey is “a sweetheart” and “one of the hardest-working athletes that I’ve ever seen.”
Browne was recently investigated and suspended by the UFC for alleged domestic violence against his now estranged wife, Jenna Renee Webb. Browne, who is no longer suspended, calls the allegations “false.”
“The fact that I was reinstated by the UFC is enough, I don’t want to go into details,” Browne said on the show. He added that he has filed for divorce from Webb.
Rousey, 28, hasn’t confirmed the relationship, but recently opened up about what motivates her to fight. The undefeated UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion said she channeled her grief over her father’s suicide into her career.
“I lost my father to suicide at eight years old,” ESPN’s 2015 Best Female Athlete told the Herald Sun. “I had so much bottled up grief and anger and self-loathing and for some reason I found an outlet that saved me.”
Rousey said she doesn’t regard fighting as an “exhibition of brutality or a glorification of violence,” but rather a “metaphor for life.”
