St. Louis Rams cheerleader Candace Valentine got a nice surprise as she hit the field Saturday for the team’s preseason game at the Edward Jones Dome. Her husband, a US Marine stationed in South Korea, recorded a “Soldier Salute” message to her that played in front of the whole stadium.

Little did she know she was in for an even bigger shocker.

During the segment mid-game, USMC 1st. Lt. August Valentine, delivered a pre-recorded heartfelt message to his wife and high school sweetheart.

“I’m so proud of you for becoming a Rams cheerleader,” August said in the clip as Candace watched from the sidelines.

Then he added: “I would never want to miss your first game – so surprise!”

At that moment, August walked out onto the field, embracing Candace as fans cheered wildly.

The Rams shared the special reunion through their official Twitter account.

Candace’s role as cheerleader is actually just a side gig – she’s also a Marine Corps first lieutenant who’s currently stationed in St. Louis while finishing her Ph.D. in public policy. She also works as an associate at a law office.
