Although He Zi didn’t get gold in the women’s 3-meter springboard Olympic final on Saturday, the Chinese diver walked away with a different (and more romantic!) piece of hardware.
Qin Kai, a fellow Chinese diver, proposed to Zi following the Olympic ceremony where she was presented with her silver medal.
As He posed for photos with gold medalist Shi Tingmao of China and Tania Cagnotto of Italy, Qin approached her, nervously biting his lip.
He then grabbed her and gave her a hug, whispering as He wiped back tears.
When Qin dropped to the ground and pulled out a red jewelry box, the crowded stadium erupted into cheers.
He nodded her head yes and Qin then stood up to give his now-fiancé a hug and a kiss.

But Qin and He aren’t the only couple to get engaged this Olympics – it seems that love is in the air in Rio.
Brazilian venue volunteer Marjorie Enya also proposed to longtime girlfriend and Brazil rugby sevens team member Isadora Cerullo on Monday.
