A VISION IN WHITE
Tara Lipinski celebrated her upcoming nuptials to Fox Sports producer Todd Kapostasy with a gorgeous bridal shower in Los Angeles on April 15. For the party, Lipinski donned a beautiful cream-colored Zimmermann lace jumper. "It was emotional," Lipinski tells PEOPLE of the shower with 30 close friends and family planned by her mother.

The 34-year-old ice skater insisted Kapostasy, who popped the question with an oval-shape solitaire set onto a pavé band while at the Plaza Hotel in New York in 2015, attend the celebration. "Todd walked me in and then I just couldn't let him go," says Lipinski, who hired photographer Elizabeth Messina for the event. "So he stayed. It made the day that much better and even more memorable."

LIKE MOTHER, LIKE DAUGHTER
Lipinski's mother, Patricia, planned the entire shower — from the cake to the decorations to the guest list. "I'm so close with my mom that I knew every part of the shower would reflect my personality perfectly," says Lipinski. "And it definitely did!" Her mother chose romantic and pastel themes to compliment her daughter's style.

UMBRELLAS, ANTIQUES AND PEARLS — OH MY!
Patricia really went above and beyond. The doting mom crafted pink and mint colored umbrellas with beautiful satin bows and crystals for centerpieces and went antique shopping for the etched glasses, plates and serving dishes. "We love antiquing together," says Lipinski. "We have done it for years."

The bride-to-be cannot wait for her summer wedding in Charleston. "I know my favorite part of the wedding will be walking down the aisle with my dad where I will then stand and look at Todd and try to say my vows without crying," says Lipinski. "I will need double strength waterproof mascara."
